0 There is a globe on a stand in the center of the room. There is a table to one side, and a microphone on a stand to the other. The microphone stand is faintly lit from above — all else is dark.
1 A beam of light from a flashlight appears from off stage, focused on the globe. The woman enters, crawling as if playing, and begins to circle the globe, illuminating it as she goes. It is sort of a game for her.
2 The man enters carrying a canvas sack, walks to the table and begins emptying the contents:
two candlestick holders two candlesticks a lighter
He lights the candles, then continues producing objects:
a cutting board a knife an apple a book
3 He throws the book at the woman. She stands, picks up the book and walks to the microphone. She opens the book, pointing the flashlight at it. Just as the man begins to bisect the apple to eat it, she begins screaming bloody murder into the microphone. Every bite he takes induces greater horror in her shrieks. Finally, she falls to the floor, dropping the book and the flashlight, screaming and convulsing.
4 The man stands and runs to her aid, picks up the flashlight and begins performing various pseudo-scientific cures on her with the light. She suddenly goes motionless. The man pulls from his pocket a cigarette case and puts one in her mouth. She spits it out. He runs to the table and brings back a piece of apple, puts it in her mouth and she spits it out.
5 He pulls a crucifix from his pocket, and she knocks it out of his hands before he can put it in her mouth, stands up and forces the man into a pose by the microphone. She positions his hand, holding the flashlight, to point at the globe. She puts the book in his other hand.
6 She walks to the table, puts the canvas sack over her head, then picks up the candles and holds them high over her head. The man groans very disturbingly into the microphone. This goes on for some time.
7 The lights suddenly come on, they put down their things, come to the front, bow, then exit.
