Savior Save Us

(2003)

It’s in between the trees and in the riverbed: the whispering of leaves and what the water said.  I don’t believe a single word written in stone.  And in the waiting rooms of all the institutions, the dying of the light, the final resolution: I was not meant to live like this, so... silently.  These are all lies. They disguise the truth in laws.  Wake up to the sound of breaking bones.  Listen: you are not alone.  Savior of the seas and frozen land, save us with an open hand.  But now I must concede: I am the guilty one.  It is a part of me — it cannot be undone.  You were my only alibi, and now your gone.  But if you’re listening, I still have more to say: this is the end of things; these are the final days.  Give up, give in to paradox — don’t break the chain…  Everything that bleeds has a heart that gives it blood, and everything you need has a heart that gives it love.  And if you came to me, I would stab you in your heart, and all you gave to me, I would carefully rip apart.  These are all lies.  I disguise the truth in songs.  Savior of the stars and firmament, save us from our innocence.
